Two-way radio for transport and logistics: power supply, antenna, range
In the car, two-way radio lives in other conditions: power supply from the onboard network, antenna on the metal of the body, constant vibration and work outside the city, where there is no repeater or cellular network.

Vehicle-mounted station, not handheld in holder
Vehicle-mounted station differs not only in power: it has a normal antenna on the roof and power supply from the car battery. handheld in a cup holder with a short antenna inside the cabin gives a range many times less - the metal of the body screens.
Power Supply: Where Most People Are Wrong
The station at 25 W at the time of transmission consumes a noticeable current. The thin wiring of the cigarette lighter drains the tension, and the correspondent hears “wheezing” or does not hear at all. That is right - a regular power supply cable directly from the battery, with a fuse in the plus break. For equipment with an onboard network of 24 V, a converter is needed.
Antenna: magnet or cut-in
Antenna on a magnetic base is installed without drilling and is easily transferred between machines - convenient for rented transport. It is more reliable on the road and is not afraid of washing. In both cases, the antenna needs a metal plane under the base: on a plastic roof or on a kunga, it works poorly without a counterweight.
The installation site is in the middle of the roof. The wing and the trunk skew the diagram: one way you can hear worse.
Range outside town
On the road with direct visibility, communication goes for tens of kilometers, in the forest and hills - by units. If the routes are constant, repeater is placed at a high point: it is cheaper than changing stations to more powerful ones.
What should be at hand
A standard tangent with a mount on the panel, a remote microphone with a noisy cabin and a spare fuse. The handheld microphone is the part that breaks first, so it is taken to reserve for the park.
What's up?
Type of equipment, onboard voltage, number of cars, routes and whether you need a connection with the control room. We'll pick up the set -- the positions below.
Request equipment for a transport project
Specify the type of transport, the existing communication system and the role of each device. In quotation, divide the station into a cabin, a separate version of CB and a PoC solution, if it suits the project conditions.
- Motorola DM2600 - vehicle-mounted station
- Vector VT-27 Smart TURBO - a separate version of the CB
- Vostok XT-810 - a separate version of the PoC
Power supply, installation and network availability for PoC are taken into account in the specific quotation.
