Handheld station, not vehicle-mounted

The security post is mobile: bypassing the territory, stairs, underground parking. Therefore, the basis is a handheld station with a durable housing. Power here is secondary: inside the building, the range is determined by walls and ceilings, not watts.

If the object is large or has underground levels, one station can not pull the connection – you need a repeater or a system with base stations. This is decided at the metering stage, not by buying a more powerful two-way radio.

Headset is more important than it seems

A hidden headset with an earphone and microphone on the wire solves two tasks at once: an employee hears a call without attracting attention, and responds without bringing the station to his face. For posts at the entrance, take a headset with a remote hand microphone on your chest - you can press the button without looking.

Shift without recharging

The standard battery is designed for a typical load, and not for a twelve-hour shift with constant ether. Hence, two practical solutions: a high-capacity battery and a second set in the charger at the post. Lithium-ion is lighter and does not require a “zero” discharge, nickel-metal hydride is cheaper and more tolerant to frost in street posts.

What breaks first

Not the station, but the accessory connector and body after falling from the waist. Therefore, the case and spare hand microphone is not a luxury, but an expendable. Antenna is also referred to as a consumable: it is broken in doors and elevators more often than two-way radio.

Numeral

For a small object, analog communication remains a cheap and workable solution. Digital is needed where intelligibility at the border of the zone, division of groups by post, encryption of the airwaves and accounting of calls are required. If the security guard rents the object according to the requirements of the customer, this is usually a figure.
