Motorola GP340 – handheld two-way radio VHF
The GP340 is the workhorse of security, production and services in the facility: without a display and keyboard, with a channel switch and large buttons. The station is given to an employee without training: turned on, chose a channel, talk.
The transmitter power in VHF is up to 5 W (UHF-configuration up to 4 W). The body is tested on MIL-STD 810 C/D/E and holds rain (IP54). On a regular nickel-metal hydride battery, the station operates 8–11 hours in the standard mode “5% transmission, 5% reception, 90% duty” – for an eight-hour shift is enough, for a twelve-hour one, take a second battery.
The model is discontinued; Motorola calls it the digital DP1400 and DP2400. If the park is already on the GP340, it is convenient to buy it: batteries, chargers and audio accessories are common throughout the GP series.

- Dual-pin headsets (MDPMLN4606A) are not suitable – the GP340 has a side-mounted multi-pin connector.
What to consider
- The range is taken under frequencies from resolution: VHF and UHF are different configurations, reprogramming is not translated between each other.
- Batteries are suitable for the entire GP series: HNN9008 and HNN9009 (Ni-MH), HNN9013 (Li-Ion). Under Li-Ion you need another case - it is thinner.
- The GP340 works only in analogues. With the digital DMR station (DM4401, DM2600), it will communicate only on an analog channel, with TETRA (MTP6550) – no.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it last without recharging?
On a regular Ni-MH battery - 8-11 hours in standard mode. With a high-capacity battery HNN9009 - longer; for a round-the-clock fast, keep the second battery on charge.
Can you record our frequencies?
Yes, the channels are programmed prior to shipment. Send frequencies and tones from the resolution — or describe the task, tell you where to start.
Is there one at UHF?
VHF 136-174 MHz is currently in stock. Write about UHF-configuration - we will clarify the deadline.
