For a warehouse and a traveling team, the word “two-way radio” can refer to different systems. In one case, a coordinated radio network station is needed, in the other - terminals, a data network and an operating group communication platform. Let’s compare the purchase by work task: what to request on Vostok XT-805/XT-810, when to consider the GP340 and how to check the selected option before expanding the fleet.
Describe the route of the employee
Make a list of places where you really need conversations: warehouse, loading area, office, yard, route between objects. Specify the number of employees in the shift and the role of the dispatcher. For a driver who moves between cities and an employee of the same site, the system requirements will differ. The choice begins with this task map, not with the promise of a certain range on the box.
Separately identify the existing infrastructure and equipment. If the company is already using GP340, list the station configuration and the agreed-upon scenario. If you are considering PoC, specify the available data networks and the need for a platform. Existing Wi-Fi or mobile internet does not yet confirm the suitability of the entire system at every work site.
Compare the composition of the system

For the purchase, it is important to choose a specific configuration and accessories for a coordinated radio network. PoC is another customer task: in addition to a suitable terminal, you need to confirm access to the network and the terms of the group service used.

For PoC, request the terms of service
Clarify who provides the platform, what devices are supported and how access is arranged for employees and dispatcher. If SIM cards, rates or accounts are required, they should have clear order terms. Specify which items are included in the terminal delivery, which are paid separately and who is responsible for system support. Do not transfer the terms of another platform to Vostok without confirmation.
Ask what happens when a network or service is unavailable and what tasks should the backup option perform. This is a matter of designing a workflow, not the promise of direct communication between any apparatus. Combining the PoC and the existing radio network is considered a separate solution: the name “two-way radio” does not make the terminals of different systems automatically compatible.
Start with the pilot being tested
Before buying for all units, agree on a small checkup. Choose normal work routes, places with difficulties and participants in the conversation. Describe the criteria: audibility, ease of management, completion of the call, the required duration of operation and availability of the dispatcher. Tests should reflect your shift, not just a brief conversation near the office.
For the Moscow-St. Petersburg route, it is useful to check the loading points, premises and movements between them separately. For one warehouse in Novosibirsk, the list will be different: working areas, shifts and the location of the dispatcher. Specify these conditions in the application. Can I leave GP340 with PoC?
Different systems can be discussed for different tasks. Their interaction and redundancy are agreed separately; direct compatibility is not assumed by the common word "two-way radio".
