Vertex Spare Antennas for Two-way Radio: Codes, Distribution and Purchase
Antenna reserve is useful when multiple two-way radios are regularly issued to employees and a separate affiliation needs to be replaced without a long search. It is important to know what configuration the park really needs. The common line of the "Vertex antenna" hides the differences between devices and operating frequencies.

First divide the park, then count the need.
Make a statement of the existing stations: full model, configuration, frequencies used and installed antenna. You can start with one typical set of each type, and then compare it with the rest of the devices. If two-way radios are purchased at different times, check the labeling of individual groups.
Reserve for replacement of damaged products, stock for maintenance of remote site and accessories for new jobs - different needs. Specify them in separate lines. Then the amount will be associated with the operation of your fleet, and not with a conditional percentage, the same for the warehouse, outbound crew and permanent post.
How to distribute ATV-16A and ATV-16C
Official manuals VX-450 and EVX-530 indicate ATV-16A at 136-150 MHz and ATV-16C at 162-174 MHz. These guides cover VX-451, VX-454, VX-459 and EVX-531, EVX-534, EVX-539. The corresponding VHF-configuration and frequencies of the existing network are used for the statement.
| Procurement | How to place a position on the list |
|---|---|
| VHF work at 136-150 MHz site | ATV-16A after testing station model and configuration |
| VHF operation at 162–174 MHz site | ATV-16C after testing station model and configuration |
| Canals in several sites | Separate selection of the full range of frequencies used |
| Need for ATU-16K | Separate line for catalog configuration 300-340 MHz with confirmation of a specific set |
| Other two-way radio or unknown markings | Identification first; quantity not combined with already agreed positions |
For example, two units may use the same family of devices in different VHF sites. Even if the external accessories are similar, the reserve for them is divided by full code. If the station works on several channels, the list leaves all the necessary frequency set, and not one line selected for the convenience of purchase.
The reserve should be clear to the person who issues it.
After approval, assign the exact designation of the antenna and information about the set to the group of stations. Separate signed spaces or packages can be used for storage; the accounting method is chosen by the organization. When issuing, the employee must see for which group the affiliation is intended, without trying to recognize it only by the general silhouette.
Our catalog images of the ATV-16A, ATV-16C and ATU-16K show the family without readable accurate labeling. They are useful for familiarizing with the product, but do not replace identification at acceptance and issuance. Keep information about the actually agreed product together with the order code.
How to determine a reasonable amount
Look at what accessories have changed over recent work periods, where damage occurs and how quickly the desired position reaches the employee. Separately, consider stations in remote areas and the planned expansion. If this data is not yet available, start with the statement and fix the actual replacements for the next order.
You don’t have to buy the same amount of A, C and K. Their shares depend on the really agreed sets in your network. If some of the devices are waiting for maintenance or have not yet been put into operation, indicate this in the application: the reserve of the existing fleet and the equipment of future jobs can be discussed separately.
Acceptance of the batch and control of re-purchase
Upon receipt, compare the number, full designations and agreed state with the specification. If the package or product contains additional suffixes, keep them in the account and clarify when discrepancies with the order. Option ATU-16KSFor example, they do not replace the document with a reduction. ATU-16K.
After replacing the accessories, check the working kit according to the order accepted in the organization. Determine which code is installed on which group of stations. To re-purchase, use this information along with current frequencies and models; the previous order should not automatically apply to new devices of another configuration.

Can the ATV-16A and ATV-16C be stored as one common position?
When issuing them, you need to distinguish them by the full code: the manufacturer indicates different frequency areas. The reserve is assigned to the agreed groups of stations.
What to include in the order for several units?
The statement of models, configuration, frequencies and codes of antennas, number according to needs and city of receipt. Unidentifiable sets are allocated separately for clarification.
